Mindfulness Practices During A Pandemic

Mindfulness is like a retreat or an escape for your mind, doing so can reset your stress levels.

Firstly, because right now, we live in an ever-increasing complex society.

Secondly, it’s no secret that the pandemic we are facing now (Covid-19) is making people anxious.

Several cities on lockdown with hundreds of countries affected; people are hoarding supplies, panic buying, businesses are closing.

Some jobs are on hold and everyone is asked to stay home.

And no one knows when this will end.

However, on a lighter note, staying at home has its silver linings.

You can get your much-needed rest, a time for your family, to finish the tasks you’ve been putting off.

Or to finally do some decluttering and general cleaning.

At this moment, people are also relying on practicing Mindfulness to ease their anxieties and worries, and by doing this you can calm down in the comfort of your own homes.

That’s why Meditation apps on Google Play and the Apple store had a recent spike in downloads.

Some recommended apps are Calm, Headspace, Breethe and Insight Timer. And the good news is, some of these apps are offering free membership.

Right now, the best way to weather the storm at home is by keeping your sanity and driving away negative emotions and thoughts through mindfulness.

Heal your energy from within and dispel the negativity so that it won’t linger to produce negative effects which could be detrimental to your health and happiness.

What is Mindfulness Meditation?

There are different kinds of meditation and mindfulness meditation is one of the simplest yet extremely effective in driving out negative emotions.

There are times that we ruminate or focus on past events which are mostly negative.

And you can’t blame yourself because it’s normal for humans to dwell on negative events.

However, it’s up to you to flush those negative thoughts out.

Sometimes people also ruminate on could-be and what-if situations in the future – now this could be the cause of anxiety.

Mindfulness will teach you and your mind to focus on the present.

It is a mental training practice that is helpful for stressful situations such as the coronavirus pandemic.

It is the practice of paying attention and focusing on your emotions, thoughts, and sensations in the present moment purposefully and non-judgmentally.

What are the benefits of Mindfulness Meditation?
